Memorial Day is right around the corner, which means one thing – it’s time to get your summer on!
I always look forward to the most laid back season of the year, and when I think of summer there are several things that come to mind…backyard BBQs, watermelon, ice cream, and cold beer to name a few. But if you’re like me, this is the time of year you also start looking for ways to treat yourself that won’t add inches to your waistline. After all, warmer temperatures mean fewer clothes to hide behind! I have some summer favorites that I look forward to breaking out each season and I have also discovered some fresh summer finds this year. I thought I’d share a few of them with you as a way to treat yourself while also staying cool, comfortable and stylish this summer.
Treat your feet – Havaianas flip flops
These are my all-time favorite flip flop! They’re super comfortable and there are literally dozens of styles and colors to choose from. They even made a Muppet edition this year that is adorable. Havaianas makes styles for women, men and children, so these are a summer treat for the whole family.
Treat your head – Mossimo Straw Fedora
It seems everywhere you look, people are donning these cute straw fedoras to protect themselves from the sun and look cool this summer. Whether you’re heading to the pool or a picnic, these are the perfect accessory! I found this one from Mossimo at Target. And they have several different colors to choose from!
Treat your nails – Essie 2012 Summer Collection
I’m so excited for these! With names like “bikini so teeny” (a pretty pale blue) and “mojito madness” (a gorgeous mint green) you know this collection of colors are the perfect compliment to the fun, more daring summer season. But don’t worry, if you like to stick to the classics on your fingernails and toenails, they also have some pretty shades of pink.
Treat your lips – Maybelline Baby Lips Lip Balm
Summer is definitely the time to lighten up on make-up – including lipstick! This lip “balm” is the “bomb”. SPF 20 will protect your lips from the sun, the pretty, cheery colors give your lips just a pop of color, and they’re only $4 each, so you can grab one to keep in your purse and one to keep in your beach bag!

Treat your fingers – Stack Rings
Stack rings are back! These thin, dainty rings make a statement when stacked together and are a perfect, no-fuss accessory for summer. And I found Target has a nice selection of metals and colors to choose from for only $19.99.
Treat your torso – Tribal Revival Tunic Cover
And finally, summer of course wouldn’t be complete without that perfect cover-up! And you can’t go wrong with crisp, cool, effortless white. It goes with everything! I found this pretty one at Everything but Water.
